Tewaarathon
Bowl
Champions
The
Tewaarathon Bowl was presented for the
first time in 2003 to the Senior "A" Champions.
The silver
bowl, fashioned in the style of trophies from lacrosse's 19th century roots,
sits on a solid round slice of red cedar representative of the origins of
the game played with the wooden stick.

Joanne T. Stanga Trophy
Champions

The engraving on the Stanga Trophy depicts the Haida raven. The Haida
natives believe that the Raven is the creator. He gave us the sun, the moon the stars
and the sky —
fitting as the sport of lacrosse gives so many young players the
opportunity to reach for their own stars.
Presented for the first time in 1997 to the U-20 "A" Champions, the
Stanga Trophy
was donated by Carol & Wes Patterson and named for the U-20 League's
first convenor, Joanne Stanga.
Joanne has served as the OLA Women's Commissioner for 15 years; coached
the Ontario Junior Provincial team
from 1990-1998 (4-time Canadian Champions 94-97), and was Head Coach of the Canadian U-19 Team - 1999
& 2003 World Bronze Medallists.

Vince Gilkinson Memorial Trophy
Champions
The Gilkinson trophy was donated to the Golden Horseshoe Girls Box
Lacrosse League in the 1970's,
and was awarded annually to the most valuable player based on skill,
sportsmanship and leadership.
The league folded in the early ‘80's, but the trophy continued to
recognize excellence
in the sport of women's lacrosse, as it is now presented annually to
the U-19 "B" Champions (as of 1998).
Vince Gilkinson played professional lacrosse in the 40's and 50's and
passed on the love of the sport
to his children who have all been involved. Son Paul, who coached the
first Ontario Women's Field Lacrosse Team
in the 70's and laid the groundwork for Women's Program in Ontario,
was inducted into the
Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame in the "Builder" category in 1998.
